Andrew Balding does well by targeting the valuable sales races and he picked up another richly-endowed prize through Zanetto in the 100,000 Tattersalls Millions 3-Y-O Sprint at Newmarket on April 17.
Group-placed at two, and second in another of these events on the Rowley Mile, the Medicean colt had been touched-off in a warm-up race at Leicester earlier in the month. Showing plenty of speed under Liam Keniry, Zanetto stole a useful lead from Irish raider Clancy Avenue, who eventually closed to within three-quarters of a length.
Balding said: "It just goes to show what an advantage it is to have a run. I'm very pleased for his owners (Mick And Janice Mariscotti), who have been very ive. He could go for a six-furlong Listed event at Ascot in a fortnight, but this was the plan and anything's a bonus."
