Joseph O'Brien's star continues in the ascendancy and he landed a valuable pot for his father Aidan as Reply claimed Doncaster's Weatherbys Insurance 300,000 2-Y-O Stakes.

Always handy behind Bogart and Top Cop under his teenage pilot as the runners came down the centre of the track, the 20-1 chance picked up well when asked and galloped right to the line, eventually beating Factory Time by half a length.

O'Brien junior, recording just his second win in Britain, said: "That's my first ride in Doncaster and everything went very smoothly. I was very comfortable where I was and he is very genuine. The ground had been a bit slow for him on his last two runs and it was better for him today."

Although the Oasis Dream colt still has some way to go to justify his 500,000 euro price-tag, the Coolmore team will be most content by pocketing a first-prize kitty of over 207,000.

Paul Smith, representing the Coolmore triumvirate, said: "He picked up really well and loved that ground. Something like the Middle Park (Newmarket, October 8) would now be under consideration."
