Race for 2013 Cartier Racing Awards Underway

Sajjhaa leads the way in the first standings issued for the 2013 Cartier Racing Awards after recording four victories from five stars this year. All of the six-year-old's successes came at Meydan, Dubai, where she captured a pair of Group Two contests, plus the Group One Jebel Hatta sponsored by Emirates Airline and the Group One Dubai Duty Free on World Cup Night, March 30.

About the Cartier Racing Awards:

The Cartier Racing Awards were established in 1991 to reward excellence in horseracing. They are determined by points earned by horses in Pattern races throughout 2013, combined at the end of season with the opinions of a of racing journalists and votes from readers of the Racing Post and The Daily Telegraph.

In addition to eight equine awards, the Cartier/Daily Telegraph Award of Merit goes to the person or persons who, in the opinion of the special Cartier Jury, has/have done the most for European racing and/or breeding either over their lifetime or within the past 12 months.

The awards will be presented during a glittering ceremony before an invited audience at London's Dorchester Hotel on Tuesday, November 12.
